Credits and data licences

trip4am is built on open data and openly licensed photos. Thank you to everyone who made them.

Place details come from the sources below; the ⓘ next to them names the source, links to it and says when it was seen.We haven’t checked them ourselves yet.

Every photo we use, with its author, licence and source. On the page itself, each photo’s ⓘ shows the same.

No openly licensed photos of individual places yet.

Other photos of places are our own, taken on our visits, or come from the place’s owner, who licensed them to us; they are credited “Photo: trip4am” and “Photo: from the owner”.

OpenStreetMap

Many listed details (opening hours, Wi-Fi, air-con, phone numbers and more) and the map itself use data© OpenStreetMap contributors, available under theOpen Database License (ODbL 1.0). We keep OpenStreetMap data in its own layer: the ⓘ beside a fact from it credits OpenStreetMap and links to the map object it came from, and it is never mixed into the facts we check or into our structured data.

Overture Maps Foundation

Place names, locations and some contact links come from theOverture Maps Foundation places data, available under theCommunity Data License Agreement – Permissive 2.0 (CDLA-Permissive-2.0); Overture’s schema and tools are under the Apache License 2.0.

Foursquare Open Source Places

Some place records come from Foursquare Open Source Places, under the Apache License 2.0.

Administrative boundaries

Province, district and sub-district (tambon) names and boundaries: Administrative boundaries © Royal Thai Survey Department / OCHA (CC BY-IGO), from theThailand Subnational Administrative Boundaries (COD-AB)on the Humanitarian Data Exchange (HDX), under theCreative Commons Attribution 3.0 IGO licence. Where a place sits outside the areas we drew ourselves, we show its tambon name from this data.

Venues’ own websites

Details marked “From the venue’s website” were read from the place’s own site. We show the fact and link to the page; we don’t copy its text.

Map tiles and map software

Map tiles by OpenFreeMap, built on theOpenMapTiles schema with data © OpenStreetMap contributors. The map is drawn with MapLibre GL JS (BSD 3-Clause licence).

Fonts

Newsreader (Production Type),Figtree (Erik Kennedy) andIBM Plex Sans Thai (IBM), all under theSIL Open Font License 1.1 (OFL), served from our own site via Fontsource.
